New Wheels

We are Italy bound and wanted to have plenty of room for visitors. The Pilot seats 8 comfy and Sr. is loving his new wheels. We'll have to ship it off soon, but happy that we get to roam around in it for a month. We're taking it to SD next week to see Mt. Rushmore.

Alicia's Car

Alicia officially has her own set of wheels. She's driving to school and loving life with her freedom.

Homecoming Dance

Alicia and Greg on their way to the Homecoming dance.

Homecoming Parade

Alicia walked with the National Honor's Society group at the Homecoming Parade. She was sure to give her daddy some candy.

Charley Girl

Alicia on her last day at Charley's. Still won't give Grandpa any fries.

Sam gets to hang out on a farm when we are gone. He lives a good life!

Go Twins!

I should title this post "Pulling Teeth" since my 3 kids were being huge pains about me taking pictures. We are in Twins gear and ready to go. You guys know how this story ends, but getting to the game is part of the experience and we had the best time. Even though I wanted to throttle them every time I asked them to stand still for a picture.
The Metro Dome with the huge hole in the roof is out the window. We are riding the Light Rail which we are "pros" at navigating since it goes in a straight line all the way to the cities and back to The Mall. It's a lot of fun to be riding with Twins fans and feeling the excitement grow as we picked up more fans at each stop. The guy behind Sr. was talking about guacamole, but Alicia and I were starting to think that his guac was different than our guac.... hmm....

It is FREEZING and I made them take their jackets off. They are faking these smiles.

We ate indoors at a bar. Great atmosphere.

Hanging out under a heat lamp. These are standard issue in MN.

A stroll by the field. Just amazing to be in the stadium and with the fans. We really wanted to touch the grounds.

See the stupid green hat in Alicia's hand? We got these hats for being 1 of the first 4,000 fans and it was a promo for Earth Day. Well, the green hats don't match so I didn't want them in the pictures. Oh, wow, the fussing I had to listen to whenever I told them to drop their dorky hats. They don't match!

A view from our nosebleed seats! The little worker bees are fruitlessly trying to push the water off the field.

They don't take me seriously. I told them that they could leave their stupid hats on.

We bought this blanket 10 minutes before they canceled the game. We didn't see an "at bat", but we certainly had a blast.

The end? Or is it?

Leila has followed us from Missouri (living in the apartments across from us) to Charleston to Oki to Minot (we live on the same street) and now to Minnesota. It was an extra special treat to meet up with Leila and her family at The Mall. Unfortunately, Leila is moving to TX next month. What will we do without her in our life? No worries, her parents are retiring in Summerville! Woop!

Off we go!

We decided to start our trip in the center of North America. It's an hour east of our home. =)
Note that we are in the Geographical center of North America... so essentially we are the furthest away from a "Coast" that we could be. They are obviously here to assist with the flooding, but made us think of Dad and gave us a giggle.

Heartbreaking.

This is a farmer's field.

We encountered closed roads along the way.

Guess what can happen after you take a perfectly respectful picture in front of the MN sign and you wander off to look at the flooding. Yep, the dorks take over the camera and fill your memory card with goofy poses.

Dorks.

Friends and a Fence

We got a fence on Tuesday - Woohoo! After being pent up with a puppy for six months - it's a welcome addition to our back yard. Our neighbor has been sending out his dog at the same time that we send out Mr. Samuel Adams. They are in love. There is no barking, just frolicking. Too cute.

Love watching his ears flap in the wind.

p.s. Note the SNOW! It's snowed 6 inches since Thursday.

Signs of Spring

Marshall and Lilly are checking out the Dakrat. Alex and his friends are collecting snakes.
Sam had his manhood stripped from him and Marshall is doing a little taunting.

A lil' bragging about the boy....

Alex got the highest reading score in the school on the ND state assessment. And how did I hear about it? A parent working the book fair at my school tonight told me that she heard about Alex's exciting achievement. We asked Alex if there was anything that he'd like to share with us and he said..."Oh, um, yeah..." He had to drag the folded award out of the bottom of his bookbag. Woop! Woop!
